Solerina the one to look out for at Naas

The Woodlands Park 100 Slaney Novice Hurdle over 2m4f is the feature race on a competitive card at Naas on Sunday which gets underway at 12.45pm.

The Bowe family has enjoyed good fortune through Limestone Lad over the years but in recent months a new star has emerged in the shape of Super Sub Solerina. Her latest win came at Leopardstown in a match against Central House when she recovered from a mistake to come home a distance clear and if fully recovered from those exertions she looks set for victory.

Oliver Brady is one of the great characters in Irish racing these days but he can train winners also and former John Oxx inmate Kenilworth might provide the Naas faithful with some post race banter from the affable Monaghan handler. This colt ran his best race to date in the Dennys Juvenile Hurdle when he chased home Party Airs and he can score on his third attempt over timber in the opener at the expense of Bellaficient.

Mick Halford enjoyed a wonderful 2002 under both codes and the Curragh trainer can start off the New Year at Naas with success, compliments of Room To Room Value in the handicap hurdle.
