Racing moves North to Downpatrick

Racing heads north to Downpatrick on Wednesday where a six-race card gets underway at 1pm. David Wachman's Le-Monde makes his chasing debut in the novice chase. Mark Grant will partner the dual hurdle-winner again after success in a three mile event at Clonmel and a hard fought victory at Cork.

Royal Allstar should make a profitable start to the day for Noel Meade in the the opening maiden hurdle. The five-year old will not have an easier race in which to lose his maiden tag. Nijinsky Dancer can put his considerable weight advantage over top-weight Eye Of The Tiger to good use by taking the 2m 1f handicap hurdle. Kevin O'Brien's charge is 20lb better off and should make it count under Garrett Cotter.

Indiana Journey, returning to the scene of her most recent victory over this distance in September, should land the spoils in the 2m 2f handicap chase. Tony Martin's filly's first racecourse victory was also over this course and distance in a bumper back in August 2000. But Pat Morris' Native Commander could throw down a serious challenge after his promising fourth behind Macs Gildoran at Fairyhouse recently.
