One Night Out to score at Downpatrick

One Night Out looks a cut above the rest in the beginners chase at Downpatrick and should score with plenty in hand at prohibitive odds. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding won two valuable races at Punchestown last season and with Ruby Walsh booked a repeat performance is imminent.

Course and distance winner Indiana Journey looks the pick in the opportunity handicap chase despite being burdened with top-weight. The opening maiden hurdle should see Irish Empire open his account under National Hunt rules. The gelding has a flat rating of 90. Stable-mate Kahrena is one to watch under Barry Geraghty.

The concluding bumper looks a competitive affair but slight preference is given to the Dessie Hughes-trained Noble Prince. The five-year-old was well beaten by Satco Express on his hurdling debut at Punchestown earlier this month, but he showed some potential when third behind Winters Folly at Clonmel last season.
