Gallagher to learn his fate tomorrow

Jockey Dean Gallagher will learn his fate at a Jockey Club inquiry in London tomorrow. Gallagher, 33, was summoned to Portman Square after testing positive for cocaine following a random dope test at Newton Abbot in September and is facing a significant riding ban which could signal the end of his career as a jump jockey.

This is not the first time Gallagher has tested positive for the drug. In July 2000 France-Galop handed him a six-month worldwide ban after he tested positive for cocaine on three separate occasions. However, he completed his rehabilitation and his licence was renewed on January 1 2001.
