Beechy Bank provided a 200-1 shocker for punters at Warwick this afternoon as the biggest-priced winner for almost 13 years.
The long-shot took the nine-runner Kingsbury Classified Stakes by a length from Miss Gigi (8-1) in the hands of Vince Slattery for trainer Mary Hambro. Tote backers of the four-year-old filly were even better off as she paid £222.30 to a £1 stake.
Beechy Bank is the longest-priced winner since Equinoctial struck at 250-1 in a novice handicap hurdle at Kelso in November 1990.
