The feature race of the day at Down Royal on Friday is the Loughran Race, a sprint over the minimum distance of 5f. Eight runners go to post here, and the Con Collins-trained Dr Dignity makes most appeal. Drawn well in stall 3, Dr Dignity will appreciate this drop in grade from premier handicaps.
Course winner Back To Bavaria returns to the scene of his greatest success to date, the Ulster Cesarewitch, to contest the 3m handicap hurdle. Not the easiest of rides, he should go well in a race that won't take much winning, and looks well handicaped with 10st 12lbs.
The bumper sees the reapperance of Euracert, a promising mare last season. She has not run in quite a while though, and it may be safer to side with the Charlie Swan-trained and James Nash-ridden Crannon Lad, who is proven on the ground and would have a big fitness advantage over most of these.
