An all National Hunt card at Downpatrick on Friday

The popular Ulster track stages a six race all national hunt card, with the first off at 3.00, and the last, a bumper, off at 5.30. There are two Maiden Hurdles, a Handicap Chase(0-95), a Handicap Hurdle hurdle(67-102), a Beginners Chase and a confined 4yo bumper.

A competitive card will ensure that winners will be hard to find, but in the bumper at 5.30, the best bet of the day looks to be Wally Wonder, trained by Tom Kidd, and to be ridden by the experienced Pat Fahy. A very promising third on his debut, normal improvement would be enough to see him win here.

Lee's Lodge, trained by Pat Martin is an interesting runner in the handicap hurdle at 3.30. He landed some nice wagers at Roscommon recently, where he won over 7f on the flat. He gets in very lightly here today, and could be a blot on the Handicap.

Another interesting runner from the Pat Martin stable is Dee-0ne-O-One in the Beginners Chase at 4.30. Given a pipe-opener on the flat at Tralee recently, where he ran better than the bare form reads, he could be worth taking a chance with at big odds, especially if there is a market move for him.
