The six day Tralee Festival meeting continues with an eight race mixed card on Wednesday. The Carlsberg Ruby Stakes is the feature event and this Listed race has attracted a maximum line-up of 17 runners. The in-form John Oxx stable is doubly represented, and John Murtagh has elected to partner impressive Naas maiden winner Blatant in preference to Czaritza.
The one mile three-year-old handicap has been divided to form the extra race, with Lady Kia and Spectacular the principals in division one and recent Curragh winner Peace Angel fancied in division two. Askthejudge ran out in the straight when set to take the opening three-year-old hurdle of the season at Roscommon and Frank Ennis' charge may gain compensation in the 5.30 race.
