Tralee Festival begins on Tuesday

Tralee kicks off its annual Rose Festival with a mixed eight race card on Tuesday. The highlight of the card is the listed Patsy Byrne Handicap Hurdle at 4.30. Norman Williamson, now stable jockey to the Edward O'Grady yard, rides the likley favourite Touch Of Love, a good fourth in the Galway Hurdle last time out. He should go well here. Others to keep an eye on are the lightweights Gatso Four On The Trot and Tarakan.

Best bet on the card could be Kevin Prendergast's filly Jakarta Jade in the opening race. Unlucky at Leopardstown where she ran green and dwelt in the stalls first time out, she will be much straighter this time around. It could also be worth taking a chance with Stay Still in the handicap chase at 5pm. Lightly raced, he will be good each-way value here at odds and is well in at the weights.
