Pugin is by far the most talented horse on show on an all-Flat programme at Fairyhouse on Sunday where the first of eight races is off at 2.30. There is not a trainer who has their horses in better form than John Oxx and while he is also represented by Galway Festival scorer Dibiya in the race, Pugin comes out best at the weights and looks a solid bet.
Oxx certainly holds the key to the Dunboyne Handicap in which he is represented by no fewer than three recent winners, and the pick among them should turn out to be Nazimabad, the choice of Johnny Murtagh who also teams up with Pugin earlier in the day.
Michael Halford is another Curragh trainer in fine form and his Sassania showed enough on her debut at Galway to get the vote in the seven furlong Ratoath Maiden. Peratus was noted putting in her best work towards the finish when narrowly beaten at the Curragh last time and this one stands out in the opening division of the EBF Maiden.
Newcomer Dabousiya, whose trainer John Oxx sent out his first juvenile winner of the season at Tipperary during the week, could be up to making a winning start in the second division.
