Sarangani heads field of 22 for Ebor

Sarangani heads a maximum field of 22 for tomorrow's Tote Ebor at York. Mick Easterby's six-year-old comes into the big handicap on the back of two successive victories and will carry top weight of 9st 10lb.

Frankie Dettori will ride ante-post favourite Charley Bates for John Gosden. The son of Benny The Dip caught the eye at Goodwood on his latest start and he should appreciate the shorter trip. He will carry 8st 9lb.

The Peter Harris-trained Barathea Blazer is another leading fancy to stand his ground for the stg£185,000 feature. He finished runner-up in the Tote-sponsored Old Newton Cup at Haydock in July over a mile and a half and Michael Kinane has been booked for the ride.

Continent and Bahamian Pirate head a field of 17 to stand their ground at the final 48-hour declaration stage for the Victor Chandler Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Thursday. The David Nicholls-trained pair, first and second respectively in the Darley July Cup will face stiff opposition from King's Stand Stakes winner Dominica in the Group One contest.
