Sagitta 1000 Guineas favourite Russian Rhythm has been given the green light to run the Peugeot Lowther Stakes at York next week. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained filly is set to take on promising juveniles Romantic Liason and Wunders Dream in a mouth-watering clash for the Group Two contest after working well at Newmarket this morning.
Russian Rhythm made a winning debut at Newmarket in June and shot to the head of the ante-post market for next year's Sagitta 1000 Guineas with an eye-catching length-and-a-quarter defeat of Luvah Girl in the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot. The Brian Meehan-trained Romantic Liason will be having her first race in the Lowther since she was bought privately by Sheikh Mohammed after her win in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.
