Hawk Wing ruled out of York with virus

Aidan O'Brien has ruled Hawk Wing out of next month's Juddmonte International Stakes at York as the colt has succumbed to a virus which has hit his string.

The trainer admitted that a 'majority' of the three-year-olds at his Ballydoyle stable are suffering from an illness which has hit the yard in the past few days. But running plans for High Chaparral are as yet unaffected as the dual Derby winner is currently on a break before being prepared for an autumn campaign.
