Nayef remains on course for the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot next week. Marcus Tregoning's four-year-old was surprisingly beaten when odds-on for the Tattersalls Gold Cup at The Curragh on his reappearance in Europe on unsuitably soft ground, finishing third to Rebelline.
The winner of the Dubai Sheema Classic at Nad Al Sheba in March, is also entered in the Hardwicke Stakes but Tregoning said today: "At the moment that's the plan - he's being aimed at the Prince Of Wales's. It was always more likely he would run in the Prince Of Wales's at this stage. He's absolutely fine and seems in good form.
In other Royal Ascot news rising Irish stayer Vinnie Roe was the subject of further support today for the Gold Cup next Thursday. Solid ante-post support for next week's showpiece has prompted Coral to cut his odds to 11-4 favourite from 7-2.
