Sakhee to miss Curragh comeback

Sakhee is set to miss his intended comeback race in Ireland next weekend, it was reported today. Godolphin's five-year-old, officially rated the best horse in the world last year, will bypass the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh a week on Sunday.

Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford told the Irish Times: "Sakhee will come out later in the year but we haven`t a firm plan for him yet. We will probably run Tobougg at the Curragh instead."

Godolphin often use the mile-and-a-quarter Tattersalls Gold Cup as a launch-pad for a top older horse, with Fantastic Light winning the race in 2001 and Mutafaweq and Daylami placed in the two previous years. Tobougg's likely rivals on Sunday week include his Champion Stakes conqueror Nayef.
