Fight Your Corner put last month's reappearance flop firmly behind him by lifting the Victor Chandler Chester Vase. Only seventh when favourite for the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket three weeks ago, he came from off the pace to lead in the straight for a two-and-a-half-length defeat of Sparkling Water. The winner is not entered in the Vodafone Derby, for which this Group Three contest is a recognised trial.
Mark Johnston said: "He is highly unlikely to be supplemented. He is in the French Derby and the King Edward VII Stakes and those are the races we will look at. He will certainly stay further than a mile and a half and we will consider the St Leger later in the season.
