Friday date for Kinane appeal hearing

Michael Kinane is to appeal against the seven-day suspension he picked up at Newmarket last Thursday, it was announced today. "Michael Kinane has declared his intention to lodge an appeal," revealed the Jockey Club's press officer John Maxse. The appeal will be heard by the disciplinary committee of the Jockey Club at Portman Square at 9.30am on Friday.

The ban - April 27, 29 and 30 and May 1 to 4 - for irresponsible riding of a major nature on Sahara Desert, first past the post in the Boadicea Conditions Stakes currently rules Kinane out of the ride on Johannesburg in the Kentucky Derby a week on Saturday.
