Marlborough heads Scottish National field

Marlborough heads a field of 19 runners for tomorrow's Gala Casinos Daily Record Scottish Grand National at Ayr. The Nicky Henderson-trained 10-year-old will carry 11-12 in the four mile and one furlong contest which also features the 2000 winner of the race Paris Pike. Jonjo O'Neill is set to run ante-post favourite Carbury Cross despite concerns over a stiffness problem for the horse while Ayr specialist Grey Abbey is also in the line up.

Champion trainer Martin Pipe and Philip Hobbs will both be double-handed with Pipe running Take Control and Cyfor Malta and Hobbs sending out both Enrique and Racing Post Chase winner Gunther McBride. Early Martell Grand National casualties Inn At The Top and Samuel Wilderspin are both bidding for quick consolation as is the Nigel Twiston-Davis-trained Frantic Tan.
