Mick Fitzgerald faces up to six weeks on the sidelines after an x-ray at Cheltenham General Hospital revealed the jockey has broken a bone in his left wrist. After steering Fadalko to victory at Cheltenham today, Fitzgerald felt discomfort in the wrist which has proved problematic since his fall from Marlborough in the Martell Grand National.
The jockey gave up his remaining ride of the afternoon to go to hospital for precautionary x-rays on the wrist and will now miss plum rides at Ayr this weekend, as well as Punchestown and Sandown next week.
