Florida Pearl is a likely runner in the Martell Cup at Aintree on Thursday, with trainer Willie Mullins set to resist the temptation to drop his stable star back in trip. Speaking at Fairyhouse on Sunday, Mullins outlined plans for his raiders at the three-day Liverpool meeting, and hinted that his King George VI Chase winner would stay over three miles plus and not tackle the two and a half miles of the Martell Melling Chase the following day.
Alexander Banquet, who carries the same colours as Fairyhouse winner Davenport Milenium, will be his representative in Saturday's £500,000 Martell Grand National with Barry Geraghty aboard. Mullins confirmed: "Alexander Banquet is in good shape and I told the owner that Davenport Milenium is hopefully just their first winner of the week."
