Seven race card for Thurles on Thursday

The NH fraternity have Thurles to themselves on Thursday where the first of seven races gets underway at 1.00pm. With five races attracting maximum fields of 18 there is certainly no shortage of runners on a programme where recent course winner Native Jack gets the vote in the two mile six furlong hurdle.

Philip Fenton hardly moved a muscle aboard Leslie Young's seven-year-old when he opened his account over timber last month and he looks set to follow up albeit at a short price. Doc Morrissey, who was clear when crumbling at the last here also last month, can compensate connections in the two mile two furlongs opportunity hurdle. On that occasion he had the race at his mercy but handed the contest to the chasing Chermesina, who subsequently followed up at Punchestown on Sunday.

Eighteen runners also face the starter for the concluding bumper and here the Willie Mullins-trained Killultagh Thunder, easy to back when second on his debut behind Browne Street at Tipperary over two miles, is taken to go one place better.
