Third Leopardstown win for Vinnie Roe

Vinnie Roe won his third race at Leopardstown on Saturday afternoon with a stylish display in the Listed Challenge Stakes. The 15/8 favourite eased to a four-length victory over Sadlers Wings with champion jockey Pat Smullen on board. Afterwards, trainer Dermot Weld revealed that the colt will race in either the Irish or English St Ledger.

"I thought our horse did his job extremely well. I always hoped he would get the St Leger trip and he has gears as well, so we will be looking at the St Leger here or in England in September," he confirmed.

Meanwhile, Right Honorable showed tremendous battling qualities to secure the first running of the £70,000 marlborough.ie handicap. A runner-up to Tarakan at the Curragh over a week ago, the progressive three-year old relished the extra furlong at Leopardstown to outstay joint-favourite Avorado in a great battle to the line.
