The Pretty Polly stakes is the highlight of the seven-race card at the Curragh today, which has a guaranteed jackpot pool of £15,000. Although John Oxx and Aidan O'Brien are both three-handed in this Group 2 contest, sole British entrant Heavenly Whisper may land the spoils. Michael Bell's filly came third in the Musidora Stakes at York last month, while Golden Apples should respond well to the recent rain.
The fillies handicap (4.15) also boasts plenty of prize money, and impressive Gowran Park maiden winner Magic Cove could be a good bet. Quality Team should make a bold bid to land the Curragh Cup for the second successive year, although Ancelin merits respect in receipt of 6lb. The highly rated Scarlet Velvet has a good opportunity of notching up a first victory in the concluding 1m maiden.
