Kieren Fallon, who is likely to ride Sagitta 2000 Guineas hero Golan in the Vodafone Derby, got a first-hand taste of the strength of the opposition when taking the Compass UK Leisure Predominate Stakes on Asian Heights at Goodwood.
Fallon, standing in for the suspended Darryll Holland, was impressed with the performance of the Geoff Wragg-trained colt, who overcome a slow start and trouble in running to beat Godolphin's Wareed by a length and three-quarters. "He's still learning, this is only his third run and when I asked him he stretched and lengthened all the way to the line," said the former champion jockey who also has another Sir Michael Stoute-trained charge, the Dante Stakes winner Dilshaan, to choose from in the premier Classic.
He added: "He's got a good turn of foot and he stays well so he'd have to be one of the horses you would fear. He's gone around here and he's watched everything. He's been on and off the bridle but he quickened for me. He definitely has a chance. I like the way he quickened but the question mark is whether he'll handle Epsom or not."
