Limestone Lad is set to return to action at Naas on Saturday, it was revealed today. James Bowe's tough performer will revert to hurdles after winning four of his five starts over fences. The nine-year-old, runner-up to Bacchanal in last year's Bonusprint Stayers' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, is to be aimed at the race again this season.
Limestone Lad missed an intended engagement in the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown because of a muscle problem in his back but has now made a full recovery.
“He's in good form and will probably run in the Bank of Ireland Hurdle at Naas at the weekend - he won it last year,” Bowe said. Limestone Lad's chasing career has been put on hold until after Cheltenham.
