The domestic racing calendar returns to action at Naas on Saturday, following the recent spell of bad weather which caused severe disruption to sport over the last week.
The first of seven-races gets under way at 12.45, and with the added bonus of a £13,415 Jackpot carryover, there should be plenty of interest. Philip Fenton takes over from Tom Magnier aboard Ned Kelly on his hurdling debut in the 4 year-old hurdle, and Edward O'Grady's charge looks the part to score at the expense of another dual bumper scorer, Bust Out.
Knife Edge makes his eagerly awaited debut over fences in the Quinn’s Of Naas Novice Chase, but Champagne Native, an easy winner on his chasing debut at Fairyhouse, gets the vote to score for Tom Taaffe. Calladine, who ran well for new trainer Christy Roche when third to Theseus in a 2 mile 4 year-old hurdle at Cork last month, can not be left out of Jackpot permutations in the featured 2m 4f handicap hurdle. Christy Roche can complete a double in the concluding bumper with Silver Steel who returns to action since finishing fourth to Ballyamber here last January.
