Champion Irish trainer, Aidan O'Brien has again left his mark on the top British Flat Racing festival, Royal Ascot, by taking the Group One, St James Palace Stakes with the previously unfortunate 'Giants Causeway'.
In this race, quietly regarded as a great challenge for any horse, Kinane kept his mount Giants Causeway up with the pace throughout beside 'Bachir' who beat him in the Irish 2000 Guineas, where he had been done for speed. This time however, it was the Irish pair who dominated the field from the front, fearing a repeat of the Curragh, and lead practically all of the way to hold off 'Bachir' first, then 'Shibboleth' and finally the fast finishing 'Valentino' to land the £156,600 prize.
