Racing: Aidan O'Brien's fancied favourite Rossini trounce

Richard Hannon strengthened his hand for the Sagitta English 2000 Guineas as Umistim secured victory in ‘thehorsemouth.co.uk Craven Stakes.’ The 8-1 chance swooped late under Richard Hughes to catch King's Best and score by half a length in the Group Three event. The Irish challenger Rossini, the 7-4 favourite, was never a serious threat and was well held in fourth.

Umistim's victory came 24 hours after the Hannon-trained Cape Town won the Victor Chandler European Free Handicap. Both colts are now set to run in the 2000 Guineas which Hannon has won previously with Mon Fils (1973), Don't Forget Me (1987) and Tirol (1990). Ladbrokes quote Umistim at 14-1 (from 50s) with Cape Town at 8-1. The Tote now go 12-1 Cape Town and 16-1 Umistim.
