Noel Hendrick and Liam Jegou failed to progress to the quarter-finals of the kayak cross in Paris.
With two qualifying from each heat for the next round, both Hendrick and Jegou finished third to miss out on tomorrow's quarter-finals.
Competing in heat two, Jedou finished behind winner Manuel Ochoa from Spain and Czech canoeist Jiri Prskavec, who both advanced.
And Hendrick could only match Jegou's finish as he trailed Noah Hegge from Germany and Australian Tristan Carter.
"I think I did really well there, I was in the game until the end," said Jegou, speaking to RTE Sport after his race.
"I stood back and stayed on the third boat's tail...and I knew at the end it was all to play for. I put in all my weight and it was enough to bounce one boat but not two, so that's it."

Hendrick also gave his reaction to RTE Sport after his race, saying: "I got off to a really good start, and I was in a really good position, I was in second, but I made a mistake in my first upstream, and it just meant I had to go back around for the up.
"And from that point onwards, I knew it would be very difficult to claw back a decent result from there so it's the end of my race here.
"It's much harder to get going than my slalom boat to get going - these things are 18 kilos of plastic as opposed to eight kilos of carbon fibre, so it's hard.
"I think I'm a bit small for it and I find it hard to compete with some of the toughest guys out there."

There was no joy for Madison Corcoran in the women's event either, as she finished fourth in the eighth and final heat.
