Jamaica's women's bobsleigh team are back on track after it seemed as though a row with their coach would leave them using a rented sled at the Winter Olympics.
Jazmine Fenlator-Victorian and Carrie Russell are set to become their country's first female bobsledders to compete at the Games, three decades after a men's team from Caribbean Island made their debut - a tale which was later turned into the popular Cool Runnings movie.
But earlier this week they were rocked when coach Sandra Kiriasis parted company with the Jamaican bobsleigh programme and took her sled with her.
It looked as though the pair were going to be forced to use a rented sled in Pyeongchang, which is hardly ideal for the biggest race in their careers.
But Jamaican beer company Red Stripe has stepped in and have offered to fund the €40,000 piece of kit.
"Red Stripe reached out and said they would buy us the sled and it just completely caught us by surprise," team spokesperson Kathleen Pulito said, as reported by The42.
"For Jamaica Bobsled to own its very own bobsled for the very first time is just absolutely incredible.
"If you could see the look on these girls’ faces … you can just imagine having to rent a bobsled all season, or work with different companies all season, but now to have our very own bobsled, we get to say what we do with it, where it goes, what stickers to put on it. It’s just given us such a confidence boost."
