Thomas Barr smashed his own national record in order to reach the final of the men's 400m hurdles at the Rio Olympics.
The Waterford runner put in a well-paced performance to pass his opponents on the home straight on his way to clocking a time of 48.39 seconds.
Barr passed out three runners on that final straight in order to ensure a first place finish and automatic qualification for Thursday's final.
