Holland's Bauke Mollema has won the Clasica San Sebastian in Spain as Nicolas Roche showed his good form with a top-ten finish ahead of the Olympic Games..

Mollema, who finished runner-up in the event in 2014, staged a solo breakaway to come home first with a time of five hours and 31 minutes.

It was a well-received result after the 29-year-old Trek-Segafredo rider lost his podium position at the Tour de France following a crash on the penultimate mountain stage, eventually dropping him to 10th.

Former winners Tony Gallopin and Alejandro Valverde were second and third following a sprint finish, with Joaquin Rodriguez and Greg van Avermaet completing the top five.

Ireland's Nicolas Roche, who was not part of the Team Sky line-up for the Tour, displayed good form before he travels to Rio, as he came home in ninth place, 34 seconds behind Mollema and three spots ahead of Olympic team-mate Dan Martin.
