Jumping: Cian O'Connor is first reserve for Olympic showjumping individual final

Cian O'Connor narrowly failed to qualify for the Olympic show jumping final when his gelding Blue Loyd had three fences down, giving the rider a total of 20 penalties over three qualifying rounds, leaving him as the first reserve for the final.

O'Connor will have to wait to see if any of the qualified horses fail to pass the vet check before Wednesday's decider.

The Co Meath rider finished 36th after the qualifying rounds, leaving him one place short of making the jump-off to decide the medals.
