OCI appeals tribunal will make ruling on Catriona Cuddihy's 4x400m relay appeal

The Olympic Council of Ireland has appointed an appeals tribunal to adjudicate on the Olympic women's 4x400m relay appeal by Catriona Cuddihy.

Cuddihy was replaced on the team by Joanna Mills, following a successful Athletics Association of Ireland appeal by the latter athlete.

The AAI announced Mills’ successful appeal result on 7 July and nominated her for selection.

The members of the appeal tribunal are Dermot Sherlock (honorary secretary general), William O’Brien (first vice-president) and Susan Ahern (executive member). Who will act as chair.

The hearing will be held on Thursday 19 July, and the OCI will make public a final decision no later than Monday 23 July.

Until the result of the appeal the names of both athletes involved have been entered into the Olympic Games registration system in London. One entry will be withdrawn following the appeal tribunal’s decision.
