Ireland's Pat Shannon sits in 27th place after his first two runs in the men's skeleton event at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.

The Wexford native finished over 5.5 seconds behind current leader Martins Dukurs of Latvia who set a new track record during his first run-out.

Shannon returns to the Sliding Centre tonight for two more runs.
