Australia broke their own world record in sprinting away with the women's 4x100m medley relay gold medal at the Beijing Olympics on Sunday.
The Australian team of Emily Seebohm, Leisel Jones, Jessicah Schipper and Libby Trickett clocked a combined three minutes 52.69 seconds to win the last women's event on the programme from the United States and China.
The USA, with 41-year-old Dara Torres anchoring the last freestyle leg, took silver in an American record 3.53.30 ahead of China in an Asian record 3:56.11.
The Australians lopped 3.05sec off the record they held from winning the event at last year's world championships in Melbourne.
