Britain's Ben Ainslie took sailing gold in the Finn class today, while in the 470 Americans Paul Foerster and Kevin Burnham came out on top.
Britain's Ben Ainslie confirmed his status as the outstanding single-handed dinghy sailor of his generation by clinching his second successive Olympic gold on Saturday.
Ainslie, Laser champion in Sydney, held a 14-point cushion going into the final Finn race at Athens and was able to repel Spaniard Rafael Trujillo, who took silver after a late surge.
Poland's Mateusz Kusznierewicz, the Atlanta champion, won the finale but it was only good enough for bronze.
In the men's 470 class, Americans Paul Foerster and Kevin Burnham, the oldest competitor in the fleet, took Olympic gold after a final race dogfight.
Britain's Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield, who needed to finish three boats above their rivals to win, could not escape their close attentions in a straight match fight, the two crews sailing their own race at the back of the fleet.
Rogers and Glanfield, who had led for most of the competition, had to settle for silver with Japan's Kazuto Seki and Kenjiro Todoroki grabbing bronze.
It was the first gold of the regatta for the United States and a first Olympic gold for Foerster, 40, and Burnham 47.
With the gold medals already decided in the Yngling and women's 470, Saturday's finale in both classes was a battle for silver and bronze.
Ukraine trio Ruslana Taran, Ganna Kalinina and Svitlana Matevusheva secured the Yngling silver after a false start by Danish crew Dorte Jensen, Helle Jespersen and Christina Otzen put them third.
In the 470, Spain's Natalia Via Dufresne and Sandra Azon took silver by a single point from Sweden's Therese Torgersson and Vendela Zachrisson.
Champions Sofia Bekatorou and Aimilia Tsoulfa from Greece did not sail after winning the gold with a race to spare.
