David Burrows has moved up to tenth position in the Finn class after finishing 18th in the fifth race and an excellent second in the sixth race today.

Portmarnock sailor Burrows has 45 points, while Britain’s Ben Ainslie, the winner of the sixth race, leads the 25-strong fleet on 16 points.

The Finn and Yngling classes were the only ones to hear the starting gun on the third day of competition with the Laser, 470, Europe and 49er events postponed as the Meltemi weather system produced rough offshore conditions on the Saronic Gulf.

But lighter winds are forecast for Tuesday, when the 470 and 49er classes have been rescheduled.

Irish pair Ger Owens and Ross Killian lie 16th overall in the men's 470 class. Britain's Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield lead the 26-strong double-handed dinghy fleet.

Maria Coleman is placed 15th in the women's Europe Class, in which 25 boats are competing. Norway's Siren Sundby leads overall.

Rory Fitzpatrick is back in 31st position of the 42-strong single-handed dinghy fleet in the Laser class. Andreas Geritzer of Austria is the leader in this class.

Fraser Brown and Tom Fitzpatrick are scheduled to go in the first three races of the 49er class tomorrow.

Apart from the 49er class, all disciplines comprise of 11 races.
