Paris 2024: Irish in action on Day 10 of the Paralympics

There are three Irish competitors in action on what is the penultimate day of the 2024 Paralympic Games.

Richael Timothy will be back on her bike in the C-1-3 women's road race.

The former Ireland underage soccer international and Roscommon footballer finished 12th in the individual time trial on Wednesday but regards the 56.8km road race as her main event.

Kilkenny native Mary Fitzgerald goes in the F40 shot put final from 10.51am.

A 2021 World Para Athletics European Championships bronze medallist, Fitzgerald finished sixth on her Paralympic debut in Tokyo. She set a personal best throw of 9.87 metres in May.

Para powerlifter Britney Arendse makes her second appearance at a Paralympic games in the up-to-79kg class.

'Spartacus' comes into the event ranked sixth, having lifted 128kg in qualifying. The Cavan woman finished seventh in the 73kg class in Tokyo and was fifth in the same at last year's world championships.
