Ireland's Shauna Bocquet finished eighth in the T54 5000m wheelchair racing final to wrap up an encouraging showing at her debut Paralympics.
Bocquet comfortably qualified on Friday following a rain-soaked heat in Stade de France.
The final was always going to be a seriously tough ask for the Galway 20-year-old, and her nerves weren't helped when she collided with the British competitor Eden Rainbow-Cooper on the first bend, with the race being restarted as a result.
Bocquet ultimately finished in a time of 11:50.85 to come home eighth of the nine who completed the race. Rainbow-Cooper did not finish.
Gold went to Switzerland's Catherine Debrunner, ahead of American Susannah Scaroni and the Australian Madison de Rozario.
"That was a lot faster than yesterday's heat," Bocquet said afterwards.
"I suspected it would go out hard and it really kicked off there at the start but I’m really happy with how the race went.
"I managed to hang on to the back of another girl and we were together for most of it. It was good, we got to work together, we took a couple of laps each.
"The stadium is incredible. The atmosphere was amazing. There was a lot of noise every time we came around and that really helps you. It gives you that edge you mightn’t think you would have. To be here at the Paralympic Games is amazing and to be in a final is just incredible."
