Róísin Ní Riain has finished fifth in the women's 400m freestyle final, with a very credible performance at the Tokyo Paralympics.

The 16-year-old, swimming in her second final in two days, set another personal best record as she finished in a time of 4:44.09.

Anna Stetsenko of the Ukraine took the gold medal with a dominant performance, shaking off some pre-race drama when she was initially listed as 'did not start' in the official start lists.

Stetsenko eventually appeared on the blocks, with the DNS being scrubbed and she took her place to power to gold in a time of 4:23.92.

Carlotta Gilli of Italy pushed Stetsenko all the way but hand to settle for silver, while Katja Dedekind of Australia took the bronze.
