Team Ireland has secured two individual places in the Para Dressage competition for the Tokyo Paralympic Games this summer.

The allocation of places is based upon individual ranking places, with Ireland set to select its athletes by the 3 August.

Horse Sport Ireland is also submitting a request to Paralympics Ireland to apply for an additional Para Equestrian slot for Team Ireland at the Paralympic Games through the Bipartite Commission Invitation system.

However, with just three of these places available across the globe, securing one will be challenging.

Dressage is the only discipline to be included in the Games, having first appeared at Atlanta in 1996.

This year's competition will take place at the Tokyo Equestrian Park between 27-31 August.
