Declan Slevin and Ciara Staunton both finished 11th in their respective hand-cycling time trials at the Rio Paralympics today.
Westmeath man Slevin completed the 12-man H3 20km course in 32:59.53, four minutes and 40 seconds behind winner Vittorio Podesta from Italy.
Wicklow native Staunton was over 11 minutes behind H1-2-3 victor Karen Darke as she finished last in 45:28.69.
There was agony for Damien Vereker and Sean Hahessy as they were edged out of a place on the podium as they finish sixth in the B tandem time trial36:23.05. Peter Ryan and Marcin Mizgajski clock 38:59.85 to finish 17th.
