Ellen Keane made her Paralympic Games debut at just 13 in Beijing four years ago. Her best result there was her sixth in the 100m breaststroke.

In 2010, she received a sports scholarship to the UK’s Kelly College where she is coached by former Olympian Robin Brew.

She has continued to progress and this was clear in her results at the 2011 European Championships where she achieved a fourth, two fifths and a sixth in the 100m butterfly, 100m breaststroke, individual medley and the 100m freestyle respectively.
