Paul's devastation over Ruth's disappearance drives a tension-filled Fair City on Thursday night on RTÉ One.
It has been revealed that the youngster ran away after receiving a message on her phone that instructed her to leave home.
Paul made a public appeal for Ruth to come back but to no avail.
On Thursday, as he leans on Orla for support, he says what both of them have been dreading.
"We don't know that she's coming home," says Paul, fighting back tears.
"We are going to start a full-on media campaign," says a distraught Orla.
"We are going to get leaflets, we're going to go door-to-door, we're going to get a bigger search party. We're going to stop at nothing."
