Ireland has won team gold at the ITF taekwon-do world championships in Porec, Croatia.
The International Taekwon-do Federation is one of a number of organisations governing the more traditional version of the Korean martial art, which is under the auspices of World Taekwondo at the Olympic Games.
Ireland won five gold, three silver and four bronze senior medals to finish top of the pile ahead of second-placed Romania and third-place Norway in the competition contested by almost 60 countries.
Irish junior competitors also claimed five golds, four silvers and 10 bronze medals.
Head coach, master Stephen Ryan, praised the achievement as "a defining moment for Irish sport and a testament to the professionalism, teamwork, and determination that the Irish Taekwon-Do Association has cultivated over many years.
"To see Ireland ranked number one in the world is a proud moment for everyone involved — from our grassroots clubs to our elite athletes. Every competitor, coach, and supporter played a part in this success."
