Joe Burrow completed 31 of 44 passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns to lead hosts Cincinnati Bengals to a 24-18 victory over AFC rivals Buffalo Bills on Sunday night.

Buffalo (5-4) threatened to rally when Josh Allen found Stefon Diggs for a 17-yard touchdown and ensuing two-point conversion with 3:32 left in the game to cut the Bills' deficit to six.

But the Bengals (5-3) got the ball back and forced the Bills to use their third and final timeout, and Joe Mixon rushed for a first down with 1:53 remaining to seal the victory.

Mixon finished with 14 carries for 37 yards and a score, while Tee Higgins was Burrow's favourite target through the air, hauling in eight catches for 110 yards.

Allen completed 26 of 38 passes for 258 yards with the TD and an interception for Buffalo, who lost for the second time in three games. Diggs had six receptions for 86 yards, while Dalton Kincaid totaled 81 yards on 10 catches. Allen also scored on the ground, where he racked up another 44 yards on eight carries.

Sunday marked the first time Bills safety Damar Hamlin returned to Paycor Stadium, where he collapsed due to cardiac arrest during a game on 2 January. He took part in warmups before the game on Sunday and greeted several Bengals players but was inactive for the contest.

Defending Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs bounced back from their shock defeat to the Denver Broncos with a 21-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt.

Patrick Mahomes failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in almost two years in the 24-9 loss in Denver, but found Rashee Rice in the end zone on the opening drive of the game to give the Chiefs an early lead.

Mahomes also threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Jerick McKinnon before safety Bryan Cook returned a fumble 59 yards for another score after Tyreek Hill had been stripped of the ball in the tackle.

Touchdowns from Cedric Wilson Jr and Raheem Mostert gave the Dolphins the chance to force overtime, but the comeback fell short when quarterback Tua Tagovailoa failed to gather a wayward snap on fourth down.

Rookie CJ Stroud threw for a record 470 yards and five touchdowns as the Houston Texans snatched an incredible 39-37 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Baker Mayfield had given the Bucs the lead with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Cade Otton with just 46 seconds remaining, only for the Texans to drive down the field and Stroud connected with Tank Dell in the end zone with six seconds on the clock.

The Minnesota Vikings overcame the loss of quarterback Jaren Hall to a concussion to beat the Atlanta Falcons 31-28, with Hall's replacement Josh Dobbs throwing a touchdown pass to Brandon Powell with 22 seconds remaining.

Dobbs, who was only signed from the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday, also ran for a touchdown in the third quarter and the Cardinals must be regretting letting him go after managing just 58 yards on offence in a miserable 27-0 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Deshaun Watson threw two touchdown passes for the Browns, one of which deflected off the helmet of Cardinals defensive lineman Dante Stills and was caught by Amari Cooper in the end zone.

Odell Beckham Jr scored for the first time since the Super Bowl two seasons ago as the Baltimore Ravens thrashed the Seattle Seahawks 37-3, with Gus Edwards running for two scores.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford was absent with a thumb injury as the Los Angeles Rams went down 20-3 to the Green Bay Packers, while Sam Howell passed for 325 yards and a touchdown as the Washington Commanders beat the New England Patriots 20-17.

The Patriots dropped to 2-7 for the first time since Bill Belichick’s first season as head coach in 2000.

Paulson Adebo had two interceptions and a fumble recovery to help the New Orleans Saints beat the Chicago Bears 24-17, with quarterback Derek Carr passing for 211 yards and two touchdowns.

The Philadelphia Eagles picked up their eighth win of the season by holding off the Dallas Cowboys 28-23.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott made it as close as the six-yard-line on a potential game-winning drive but was ultimately unable to convert.

The Las Vegas Raiders demolished the New York Giants 30-6 with the fears Giants' starting quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a significant right knee injury - possibly a torn ACL - during the loss.

On the final play of the first quarter, Jones attempted to elude Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby when his right leg gave out and he crumpled to the ground. On the next play, Jones dropped back to pass and as he put pressure on his right leg, it gave out again and he fell to the turf, grabbing his right knee.

Carolina quarterback Bryce Young threw three interceptions in the Panthers’ 27-13 defeat against the Indianapolis Colts.
