Simone Biles is set to return to competition from a two-year break after entering the US Classic in August.

The seven-time Olympic medallists' name was among the list of registrants for the event in Chicago published by USA Gymnastics on Wednesday.

American Biles, 26, has sat out top-level action since the delayed Tokyo Olympics in the summer of 2021, at which she withdrew from five of her six finals to focus on her mental health after suffering a spatial awareness issue known as the 'twisties'.

She won bronze in the women's beam and silver in the team event after completing those finals.

Her entry into the 5 August event suggests Biles, who won four gold medals in Rio in 2016, is planning a comeback ahead of the Paris Games next year.
