Rhys McClenaghan has qualified in first place for the pommel horse final at the 2023 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antalya, Turkey.
The reigning world champion led the field with a score 14.966 and will compete in Saturday's final; between 11.30am and 1.55pm Irish time.
McClenaghan's Irish team-mates Adam Steele, Dominick Cunningham, Eamon Montgomery and Niall Hooton were also in action in the all-around competition.
Adam Steele finished in 39th with a score of 76.933, Dominick Cunningham placed 60th with a score of 75.097 and Niall Hooton placed 73rd with a score of 70.532.
Tomorrow will see the women's qualifiers taking place.
The Irish team of Haillie Hilton, Emma Slevin, Jane Heffernan and Kate Molloy will compete in subdivision 4 from 4.30pm - 6.30pm Irish time.
