Melbourne Demons 50-9 Essendon Bombers
Sinead Goldrick and Blaithin Mackin were part of a Melbourne Demons side that crushed Essendon to join Brisbane at the top of the AFLW standings with one round of games to play.
In almost gale-force conditions at Casey Fields, it was Melbourne's ability to score against the breeze that proved crucial.
The Demons' experience was evident, as they chose to run the ball into attack when they were up against it to minimise any disruption.
Goldrick finished with eight disposals and four tackles for the victors, while Mackin had seven disposals to her name.
Fermanagh's Joanne Doonan featured for the Bombers, claiming a disposal.
St Kilda Saints 35-33 Port Adelaide Power
St Kilda ended a six-game losing streak to edge past Port Adelaide and record just their third win of the campaign.
Despite a somewhat sloppy finish – they failed to score in the final quarter – the Saints managed to hang on for a two-point victory.
"There are moments where you feel like you have some control, then there's a lot of moments where it's up to the players to do the best they could possibly do," St Kilda coach Nick Dal Santo said afterwards.
"It's clear we're on a journey, we're a young group that's evolving from week to week."
Richmond Tigers 58-15 GWS Giants
Bríd Stack and Cora Staunton were part of a GWS Giants side that fell to a heavy defeat to a Richmond side that is on the cusp of reaching its first ever finals.
Monique Conti put in another dazzling display to help her side surge into the AFLW top four with one game to play.
After losing the first two rounds of the season, the Tigers have looked a rejuvenated side and have now picked off seven wins on the spin and a new club record.
Stack finished with nine disposals while Staunton had six disposals and two kicks.
The Tigers finish their season off against the high-flying North Melbourne next Sunday, while the Giants take on Gold Coast at home later that day.
In Saturday's action, Brisbane Lions and Orla O'Dwyer made it four wins in a row with a crushing 61-7 win over Hawthorn at the Skybus Stadium.
The ladder leaders kicked nine goals in all with O’Dwyer contributing a behind along with 17 disposals and 14 kicks.
Jesse Wardlaw led the way once again with her three goals taking her tally to 17 for the season.
It was a tough day for Irish pair Aileen Gilroy and Áine McDonagh, who each had eight disposals, as the Hawks suffered back-to-back losses.
Collingwood lost ground on the leading pack after a poor 25-57 defeat to North Melbourne.
Sarah Rowe and Aisling Sheridan clocked up 25 disposals and 16 kicks, but they were overrun by the visitors.
Amongst those profiting for the away side were Vikki Wall, who helped herself to another goal, while Erika O’Shea also featured.
Fremantle also had a win on the road with a 42-28 win against the Sydney Swans. Áine Tighe and Amy Mulholland were both on the scoreboard for the Dockers as they each notched a behind.
Aisling McCarthy’s West Coast Eagles also suffered a home loss as they were defeated 55-23 by the Western Bulldogs.
